SALZBURGER GEMS

The more further away you live from Austria, the more likely you’ll know The Sound of Music and this song:

CHASING SUNSETS OVER VIENNESE ROOFTOPS

Mesmerising sunset over Vienna from the St. Stephens Cathedral. Take the lift up to the South tower and watch the sun sink and colour the sky red behind the city’s hills. Plan your visit between August and May; the cathedral is open until 8-9pm and in June/July it could be difficult to catch the best light for a stunning shot. Make sure you leave the tower in time, otherwise you might be locked in (almost happened to me this year).

As featured on 1000 Things to do in Vienna and Vienna_Austria.

FROM PALERMO AND BACK: ROAD TRIP IN SICILY #1

There are few things you don’t want to do when in Sicily. One of them is driving a car. I tell you, traffic on Sicilian roads is MAD. So if you do decide to take up the challenge, make sure you get a full insurance on that car. Beware of the fact that traffic rules are rather a guideline than actual rules and make sure you’re focused while driving.

Apart from this, Sicily is a bliss. I loved it. Not even the crazy traffic could ruin it for me. Beautiful beaches, mesmerising sunsets, even better daybreaks, stunning views over hills, charming little towns, historical sites, architecture, the smell of fresh laundry and strong perfume wherever you go, and of course great Sicilian food.

A POST A DAY KEEPS BOREDOM AWAY: CHASING SUNSETS

Let me give you a beautiful glimpse of Ragusa Ibla, the historical part of a little settlement in southeast Sicily. After being destroyed by the 1693 earthquake, this charming little town full of labyrinth-like alleys and fascinating architecture was rebuilt by the local aristocracy on the exact same spot.

WELL THANKS, HTTP ERROR

If you’ve been wondering why you haven’t seen any of those flashy photos of mine so far, well let me tell you I’ve been trying ever since the blog is online. But apparently, even after attempting pretty much everything as far as my coding knowledge goes, can’t upload anything larger than a few kbs, which makes no sense for high resolution images. So, until the helpdesk gracefully fixes this rather annoying upload issue, enjoy a small-size view of magical Viennese sunset.
